Apple just reported its Q2 financial results at $22 billion— their best Spring profits ever. This company, which has transformed all of our lives in the last decade, stands out as a shining example of American ingenuity and the great benefits of free market capitalism.
But lurking within our body politic is a pernicious evil that seeks to destroy capitalism and our American way of life. Author, commentator and conservative legend Mark Levin calls this ugly force “American Marxism.”
In his new book American Marxism, he asserts quite forcefully that those who call themselves “progressives,” “Democratic Socialists,” and “social activists” are actually Marxists who accuse we Americans involved in free market capitalism as unjust, inequitable, racist, sexist, and materialistic destroyers of the environment.
I am not an alarmist by nature, but Ronald Reagan warned us that “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.”
These “American Marxists” now occupy our universities, boardrooms, social media and the entertainment industry. As Levin explains, these revolutionaries, “use the tactics of propaganda and indoctrination, and demand conformity and compliance.”
Levin wants true American patriots to wake up to the clear and present danger. We must fight back and remind the next generation that true republican government welcomes the free exchange of ideas. It promotes capitalism because it has created, “unimaginable and unparalleled wealth for more people in all walks of life than any other economic system.”
