I own a small business and must contend with silly regulations and bureaucratic red tape that cost time and money. We regularly produce cash flow and financial statements of assets. Fortunately, here in Oklahoma, we don’t have to worry about radical leftist judges who want to punish us for being successful and making a few documentation errors.
New York Judge Arthur Engoron, in a business judgment without a trial by jury, ordered former President Donald Trump to pay an outrageous sum of $355 million because the financial statements he submitted to banks were not 100% accurate. The judge sided with politically motivated New York Attorney General Letitia James that fraud had been committed, and Trump should be punished.
The “crime” apparently was that Trump received favorable terms for financing deals from UBS for various real estate transactions - but UBS received their money back with interest in millions of dollars. “There were no victims because the banks made a lot of money,” Trump said, echoing his trial testimony in November.
This craziness gives Trump supporters all the more ammunition they need to believe that the media, government bureaucrats, and radical judges will do all they can to bring Trump down. For a successful guy, who certainly exaggerates, but gave the country a great economy with low inflation, peace and security in the Middle East, and a more secure Southern border, you’d think he’d just say “to heck with it all.”
Despite all the Trump haters, he presses on and has certainly earned the support of Republican Primary voters. It's time for Nikki Haley to bow out so Trump can once again battle Biden and see who has a better vision and record to get America back on track. In the meantime, business owners need to high tail it out of New York and come to Oklahoma!
