This week the Mazzei Clan celebrated with food, fireworks and fun like the rest of the United States of America! There is so much to celebrate with gratitude as Americans. We live in the greatest, most prosperous and generous nation the world has ever seen.
My brother Dan served as a Captain in the U.S. Army and is now a Partner with Wallace Engineering. Over the July 4th weekend, he reminded our family of the many things that make America great.
American ingenuity has transformed the world with the advent of flight, the weed whacker for our yards, the personal computer, speed-of-light email and so much more.
We have the most patriotic soldiers in the world who protect our rights of freedom of religion, speech and assembly. Our selfless first responders in every state rush to help our fellow citizens regardless of race or creed when disaster strikes.
The U.S. by far has the most generous people in the world who gave away $427 billion in charitable donations last year. Americans don’t back down from challenges either. We are tough, resilient and steadfast in our determination to work hard, address our faults and help make the world around us a better place.
So, when you hear people complain about America or disrespect our beloved Stars and Stripes, take a moment to be grateful and remember that it’s great to be an American!
