The liberal elites in Washington, D.C. want to monitor your bank account. You would think, “they can’t be serious,” but they are.
Representative John Yarmuth, the budget chairman of the U.S. House, drafted language in the massive $3.5 trillion spending bill that would give the IRS the authority to look over any bank account that has more than $600 worth of transactions every month.
The Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen argues this type of oversight will help catch wealthy tax dodgers. Yellen has thus joined the ranks of communist overlords who want to make sure our every move fits with the liberal, anti-capitalist agenda.
The outrage that the proposal understandably generated has already led to a slight adjustment. The Nancy Pelosi team has offered to raise the threshold to $10,000 of activity per year. Well, that’s still only $833 per month. They must think we’re stupid. No freedom loving American should put up with this nonsense.
The whole idea is downright scary when we remember that the spending bill also includes an $80 billion increase to hire thousands of new staffers. Imagine thousands of IRS trolls watching every financial transaction we make. I think I’m going to go buy a treasure chest for my cash and coins. I wonder if I can get one of those at Amazon?
