Mazzei Minute: 08/12/22

The Journey to the dark side is complete. The bureaucrats of the FBI have succumbed to political bias and committed a national travesty by raiding the residence of a former President of the United States.

The search by the Justice Department for potentially mishandled classified documents certainly looks like prosecutorial overkill and reveals the untethered animosity of the Washington D.C. swamp culture to do whatever is necessary to bring down President Trump. Normally, legal arguments over work papers in storage boxes are handled by lawyers.

The first sign of the “deep state” being consumed by the liberal left was the refusal to pursue the obvious and admitted mistakes of Hillary Clinton after she handled classified information on her personal computer system.

The second step to the dark side of politicization was the two-year fiasco of the FBI's abuse of process and public deception over the completely fabricated Russia collusion probe.

I’d much rather discuss economic issues, but economic risk pales in comparison to the risk of American liberty and freedom when the Justice Department has lost all credibility with the American people.

As Senator Chuck Grassley, the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, said regarding his discussions with FBI Director Christopher Wray, “the raid on the home of a former U.S. President without explanation will only further erode confidence in the FBI and Justice Department.”

Sad, but true.
