America just turned 246 years old! Over the holiday weekend, I came across a young adult who unfortunately complained about being unable to celebrate the United States this year. I’m a pretty calm person, but this made me darn angry!
I’m just so grateful to be an American and have the rights, liberties, and freedom that we are lucky to enjoy. As a matter of fact, on the Fourth of July, my family each shared what we appreciate most about being a U.S. citizen.
The right to free speech and attending the church of our choice was high on the list. Everyone agreed that the freedom to choose our own career path makes America truly great compared to your job being chosen for you by a communist dictator.
The Mazzei ladies expressed gratitude for the freedoms they enjoy compared to women across the world who are forced to live as second-class citizens.
I stated how lucky I am to be a small business owner in a world of free-market capitalism. Our prosperity is astounding when you consider the poverty and hardships that so many people endure.
My sons marveled at the military men and women who keep us safe from the ravages and greed of evil tyrants and warlords. Just look at the poor plight of the Ukrainian people whose very existence is threatened!
All in all, we’re blessed to live in the greatest country in the world. And while we have some things to work on, I am confident that the government of the people, by the people, and for the people will get it right in the end.
